Shareholder and Founder

Gary J. Highland was born in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois where he resided through his freshman year of college at the University of Illinois. Mr. Highland completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, where he received a B.A. degree in social sciences in 1976. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1979. While there, he served as Notes Editor for the Southern California Law Review.

Since graduating from law school, Gary Highland’s law practice has been focused exclusively on representation of lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions. Over the years he has represented many of the largest and most prestigious lending institutions in the United States.

Mr. Highland developed a reputation for using automation in his law practice, and has been featured in numerous articles on document automation and law office technology. He has personally developed a number of computer applications to automate the preparation of customized commercial real estate loan documents. Much of the document automation software used by LoanDocSolutions today was originally developed by Mr. Highland.

Before founding LoanDocSolutions and Highland Law Corporation in 1997, Gary Highland was a partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, a renowned law firm founded in 1873, with offices throughout the world. Mr. Highland was the senior partner in the real estate finance group of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner’s Southern California offices.

Mr. Highland is a member of the Orange County and American Bar Associations, the State Bar of California, American Mensa and The Pacific Club. Gary Highland has resided in Newport Beach, California for many years, where he lives with his family including three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, movies, photography and cooking.



Rhiley Walsh graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she served as a staff member for the University of San Francisco Law Review. Rhiley won the CALI Award for the highest grade in Antitrust Law and IP Rights, she also competed on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team and won the USF Law Moot Court Best Oral Argument Award.

Prior to joining Highland Law Corporation, Rhiley was a Banking & Finance associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she represented private equity firms, portfolio companies and other corporate borrowers in connection with first and second lien credit facilities, exit financings, recapitalizations and restructurings. Rhiley’s law firm experience includes work as an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, focusing on venture capital finance with an emphasis on emerging companies. As a law student, Rhiley interned at NBC Universal and Baker & McKenzie LLP’s Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam office.

Rhiley is a member of the State Bar of California and the Filipino Lawyers of Orange County. As a VA-accredited attorney, she has represented military veteran clients on a pro bono basis. Rhiley speaks fluent French and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family and going to the beach.



Marvyn Sumner Llamas is a J.D. honors graduate of both the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, and the Emory University School of Law.

Prior to joining Highland Law Corporation Marvyn was an Associate at Romulo, Mabanta, Buenaventura, Sayoc & de los Angeles, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the Philippines, with a practice focused on corporate, real estate, finance, M&A, and securities law. In the Philippines, he also taught law at several law schools.

As a law student at Emory, Marvyn interned at Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP, and Joseph, Aleem & Slowik LLC. In both firms, he worked on corporate financing, M&A, and real estate matters.

Marvyn is a member of the State Bar of California and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Marvyn speaks fluent Tagalog and in his free time enjoys traveling.


Tucker W. Wade received his J.D. from Boston College Law School, and his B.A. from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Prior to joining Highland Law Corporation, Tucker practiced law in Orange County at a leading boutique civil litigation law firm.

While in law school, he was a summer associate at Credit Suisse A.G. in its former U.S. private banking business where he was the only law student in the summer M.B.A. program.

In addition, under the auspices of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (“MATA”), Tucker co-authored an amicus curiae brief in support of the appellees in Reckis v. Johnson & Johnson and McNeil-PPC, Inc., concerning matters of law on direct appellate review before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He subsequently received the MATA President’s Award for his contribution.

During college, he competed in the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges as a member of the Holy Cross men’s varsity and freshman heavyweight rowing teams.

Tucker is a member of the State Bar of California and the Orange County Bar Association. He resides in Orange County, and is an avid alpine skier.



Michelle Yang was born in Taiwan and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Michelle received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where she took courses in contracts drafting, deal structuring, and real estate finance. She graduated from the National ChengChi University in Taipei City where she received her Bachelors of Law. While at National ChengChi University, she competed on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team and won an Outstanding Oralist Award in the National Rounds.

Before joining Highland Law Corporation, Michelle was at Malik Law Group in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked with promissory notes, loan agreements, and entity formation documents as a legal extern. She also worked as a legal intern at multinational corporations, Flex, Ltd. and Philip Morris International, performing duties involving legal compliance, agreement and document review, and contract drafting.

Michelle is a member of the State Bar of California. She is Bilingual in Mandarin and English. In her free time, she enjoys trying international cuisines, cooking, and playing badminton and other sports.
