Gary J. Highland
Gary J. Highland was born in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois where he resided through his freshman year of college at the University of Illinois. Mr. Highland completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, where he received a B.A. degree in social sciences in 1976. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1979. While there, he served as Notes Editor for the Southern California Law Review.
Since graduating from law school, Gary Highland’s law practice has been focused almost exclusively on representation of lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions. Over the years he has represented many of the largest and most prestigious lending institutions in the United States.
Mr. Highland developed a reputation for using automation in his law practice, and has been featured in numerous articles on document automation and law office technology. He has personally developed a number of computer applications to automate the preparation of customized commercial real estate loan documents. Much of the document automation software used by LoanDocSolutions today was originally developed by Mr. Highland.
Before founding LoanDocSolutions and Highland Law Corporation in 1997, Gary Highland was a partner at Bryan Cave, a renowned law firm founded in 1873, with offices throughout the world. Mr. Highland was the senior partner in the real estate finance group of Bryan Cave’s three Southern California offices.
Mr. Highland is a member of the Orange County and American Bar Associations, the State Bar of California, American Mensa and The Pacific Club. Gary Highland has resided in Newport Beach, California for many years, where he lives with his family including three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, movies, photography and cooking.
Raffi Djihanian graduated summa cum laude, with a B.A. in Business-Economics, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 2006, earning the American Jurisprudence award (given to the student achieving the single highest grade in a course) in three courses (Corporate Finance and Bankruptcy, Corporate and Partnership Taxation, and Employment Law). While in law school, he served as Managing Editor of the Berkeley Business Law Journal.
Since graduating from law school, Raffi’s law practice has been focused primarily on business finance transactions. Before joining LoanDocSolutions and Highland Law Corporation in 2012, Raffi was an associate in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins LLP, where his practice concentrated on representing large financial institutions and multinational companies in the negotiation, documentation and structuring of secured and unsecured bank finance and other commercial lending transactions. In the course of his practice, Raffi has developed extensive experience in the drafting and negotiation of credit agreements, commitment letters, security agreements, intercreditor agreements, subordination agreements, promissory notes, security release documents and other financing documents.
Raffi is a member of the State Bar of California and resides in Cerritos, California. He enjoys traveling, reading, Clippers basketball, Angels baseball, fantasy sports leagues and spending time with friends and family.
Michael Tran was born in Monterey Park, California and is a native of Southern California. Mr. Tran received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2004 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2007.
Before joining LoanDocSolutions and Highland Law Corporation, Mr. Tran was an associate attorney at several well-regarded law firms in Orange County in which the majority of his practice was concentrated on real estate matters. Over the years, Mr. Tran represented some of the largest financial institutions in the world, gaining significant experience in a wide range of business matters involving real property. Having extensive experience in complex business litigation as well as having developed significant experience working on real estate transactions, Mr. Tran is able to provide a comprehensive perspective in his work on behalf of LoanDocSolutions clients.
Mr. Tran is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Orange County Asian American Bar Association and the Bruin Bench and Bar. Mr. Tran resides in Irvine, California. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling and working out.
Michelle Fassberg is a Southern California native who was born and raised in Calabasas, California. Michelle graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2012 with a B.A. and departmental honors in both Psychology and Communication. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law in 2015.
Before joining LoanDocSolutions and Highland Law Corporation, Michelle worked for a high profile national commercial real estate lender where she was responsible for managing and drafting loan documents, coordinating closings and creating processes for income property real estate finance transactions. Michelle brings her background and experience to bear in representing LoanDocSolutions clients in their loan transactions.
Michelle is a member of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Michelle resides in West Hollywood, California and enjoys traveling, reading and eating chocolate.
Bibin Mannattuparampil was born in India and grew up in Florida. Bibin received his undergraduate degree from Nova Southeastern University 2009 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida in 2013.
Prior to joining LoanDocSolutions and Highland Law Corporation, Bibin practiced at prestigious South Florida law firms, where he represented borrowers and lenders in commercial real estate transactions. His practice in Florida also included representation of lenders in real estate litigation matters. Bibin’s combined transactional and litigation experience brings a valuable perspective to his work on behalf of LoanDocSolutions clients.
Bibin is a member of the State Bar of Florida, the South Asian Bar Association and NAIOP – Commercial Real Estate Development Association. Bibin resides in Irvine, California. He enjoys Spanish and English league soccer, traveling and cooking.
Rhiley Walsh graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she served as a staff member for the University of San Francisco Law Review. Rhiley won the CALI Award for the highest grade in Antitrust Law and IP Rights, she also competed on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team and won the USF Law Moot Court Best Oral Argument Award.
Prior to joining LoanDocSolutions and Highland Law Corporation, Rhiley was a Banking & Finance associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she represented private equity firms, portfolio companies and other corporate borrowers in connection with first and second lien credit facilities, exit financings, recapitalizations and restructurings. Rhiley’s law firm experience includes work as an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, focusing on venture capital finance with an emphasis on emerging companies. As a law student, Rhiley interned at NBCUniversal and Baker & McKenzie LLP’s Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam office.
Rhiley is a member of the State Bar of California and the Filipino Lawyers of Orange County. As a VA-accredited attorney, she has represented military veteran clients on a pro bono basis. Rhiley speaks fluent French and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family and going to the beach.
